A downloadable game for Windows

A virtual-pet style game with the coolest .GIFs and MIDIs on the block! Perfect as an idle time-waster while "working".

Inspired by 90s/early 2000s shareware games, filled with questionable fonts, .GIFS, and the finest MIDI tracks out there!

Easy to mod, letting you edit & create new characters, as well as custom backgrounds and music tracks!

  • Your main responsibilities are keeping your GIF friend fed and happy. You do this by clicking the feed and play buttons displayed in the bottom left corner.
  • The status bars in the top right display the condition of your GIF. Keep in mind that you can overfeed, and overwork your emoji - doing this will cause a drop in health and fun.
  • Health will automatically replenish if your GIF is well fed.
  • The GIF's XP will go up whenever you play, feed, or interact with it. It also goes up passively, as long as it is in not hungry or lacking in fun.
  • Hover over buttons to view a brief description.
  • The game will autosave consistently, as well as whenever you click the Exit button.
  • Hover over your GIF to see more detailed stats about them!
  • Click the sleep button in the bottom right when going AFK, this will let the emoji continue earning passive XP whilst their fun and hunger are high. When the hunger level runs out, they won't take any damage until they wake up.

This is a really cool idea!

I love that you made everything customizable!

If I may, here are a few possible improvements you could make:

1. One thing I noticed is that the same music track loops over and over - it would be cool if you could, when one music track finishes, play the next one (randomly or not, up to you)

2. Also, in the Readme, it says your status indicators are in the top-right, but they're in the top-left - should be a quick fix :)

3. I'm not sure if Increasing Hunger by Eating makes sense - maybe you can rename it to "Satiation" or something, or otherwise make hunger go down when eating?

These are mostly nitpicks, but I like the idea, and there's definitely a charm to this game!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you add next - if you like, you can inform me when you make new content, I would be interested in trying it out :)

If it's not a secret, what do you intend to add?

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, I'll look into fixing them soon & I'll reply when it's updated! 😎

So far the next update has added a stamina bar. This slowly ticks down while the GIFotchi is awake, and goes down more whenever you play with them. This fixes getting overworked from having too much fun, instead happening when you have no stamina. It also gives another purpose to sleeping as this is how it's replenished.

Another addition is being able to toggle the window to a borderless transparent window.

Going further into the future, I want to add more long-term progression outside of just levelling up.
